From the humble beginnings in Pembrokeshire in 1991, when Miles and Linda Cowsill took the bold decision to strike out on their own, Lily Publications has rapidly evolved into something of a unique organisation.

Now based near Ramsey, the company is not only producing an impressive and expanding portfolio of high-quality books, as befits a leading Island publishing house, it is also making available its full range of creative services concept, design, photography, writing, editing, proofreading and production to companies and organisations both on Island and across the UK.

The specialist skills acquired in bringing the business this far embrace the whole spectrum of promotional and PR communications, notably brochures and customer inflight-style magazines.

For more than a decade Lily Publications were entrusted to create and produce the Isle of Man Holiday Guide for the Department of Tourism and Leisure. In addition to undertaking work for various government departments on the Isle of Man, Lily Publications are retained by P&O Ferries, Brittany Ferries, Irish Ferries and Caledonian MacBrayne to undertake work for their organisations. Currently, Lily Publications are responsible for producing for Brittany Ferries Voyage Magazine, their onboard magazine for passengers on their routes to France and Spain and also IF Magazine for Irish Ferries, which is their onboard title on their shipping services to and from Ireland to the UK and France.

Alongside their design services, the company produce a number of best-selling books including the All Round Guide to the Isle of Man, which sells worldwide. The company also produce a variety of quality publications on the Isle of Man, including Three Legs in the Irish Sea, Visions of Mann, Wildflowers of Mann and Spirit of Guernsey.

The company have also been involved in a major contract undertaking extensive photography of all the Churches, Chapels and Kieells of the Isle of Man. This three-year project will see at Christmas 2009 a coffee-table style book culminating from this photography work.

Lily Publications have also been involved in a number of titles of worldwide distinction, including QE2 – Britain’s Greatest Liner, which covers the history of Cunard’s famous cruise-liner for more than 40 years. Currently, Lily Publications are producing a series of other titles in conjunction with Cunard on the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.
